Maybe decades of listening to EST, Beans, Black Thought, Freeway, & The Fresh Prince have shaped my idea of what a Philly emcee should sound & look like, but I would've never pictured this guy having next:

This cartoon shyt would never fly if AR-AB was still on the streets!

Philly
The Fresh Prince is one of the greatest emcees ever to step out of Philly, he looks & sounds like Philly, and he's a bonafide legend.
2Rare ain't that.

The problem is, 2Rare sounds like Philly but tries to change it into something else...like an actor doing a bad accent. Even in the freestyle, he starts off like Philly, then morphs it into modern rapper 101

I am not a fan of his crime-scene chalk hair lineup

2Rare sounds and looks like Philly in his era

Will Smith don’t sound like Beans or Meek

2Rare and his squad and Philly Goats epitomize the new youth of Philly

I’m not really familiar with dude and this is the first time really seeing him mentioned. Went to his Spotify and had heard a few songs in backgrounds of stuff. My real question is a lot of the songs have what I though was that New Jersey club bounce. Is this sound big in Philly now amongst the youth?

Of course he doesn't. Rappers made it a point not to sound like each other back then.
KRS-ONE didn't sound like Grandmaster Caz.
Redman didn't sound like Treach.
Rakim didn't sound like Chuck D.
If you want to keep it Philly,
Han Soul didn't sound like Schooly D.
EST didn't sound like Steady B.
Malik B (RIP) didn't sound like Dice Raw.
Meek doesn't sound like Dutch.
