KRS-ONE didn't sound like Grandmaster Caz.
Redman didn't sound like Treach.
Rakim didn't sound like Chuck D.

Going to disregard th ODB/Biz comment or that will be a whole different convo. In no way do I think dude is dope from what quick snippets I listened to, but we’re definitely not his intended audience. From what I see he’s heavy on the dance tip and has videos over 10 million. So he definitely deserves the spot and realistically how long has it been since Freshman list was even a respected accomplishment like that.

That awful Freshman Freestyle killed any desire for me to check out any of 2 Rare's other music, but I could definitely see him appealing to teens & club kids.

On a side note, who are some of the up and coming Philly rappers we should be looking out for? Philly rappers have always been some of the dopest and hardest lyricists. Who’s carrying that torch?

In Philly 90% of the music I hear coming out of cars is boom bap type rap...

Been to Philly a few times in the last year and I don’t know what you’re talking about didn’t hear that at all
