Why do you cats still think it's 2000?

How many rappers even did these numbers last year? And this is throwaway glorified mixtape.

Who's talking about 2000? His last album was less than 2 years ago and it did nearly a million units sold.

And as for this talk of "it's a glorified mixtape" :dwillhuh:

It has big budget videos. It has songs on the radio. It features name (and expensive) guest appearances and producers.

All original beats, all original rhymes.

How is this not an album?

You can't compare C4 with this. C'mon, son.

How many records did the first IANAHB sell compared to C3?

Lets see what C5 does before we start declaring careers dead.

This is normal for a IANAHB album. I'm not even a weezy stan, just using logic.

Fair enough, but the first album didn't have Wayne out promoting it, videos, etc.

I just don't see how this is a "side album" or a "mixtape".

Its a waste of time trying to judge rappers off how well their side projects do.

Wait til the C5 numbers come out.

what "expensive" guest appearances, and producers you talkin about..

you mean Gunplay, 2Chainz, Drake & Future.. :skip: they work together all the time.. thats his people..

as for producers- same thing.. he been working with most them folks..

this album probably cost this dude & the label, next to nothing to put out.. funny part is, he didn't even have to go on a media run.. shyt.. if anything- he about to see some money & more numbers off this.. especially with a tour coming up..

Enlighten me as well, is every album by Wayne not named "Carter" a side project? I mean, I can understand an album like that Rebirth disaster being a side project because he was experimenting with a different genre but why does this album qualify?

There's no way to spin this as a flop for the following reasons:

Rebirth and the first I Am Not A Human Being dropped when Wayne was more popular than he is now. Both had big name producers and features. Both had videos. Both of those projects did a fraction of what Carter 3 did. In fact, C3 did more in week what the first IANAHB did overall.

Rebirth- 176K first week

I Am Not A Human Being- 110K-125K first week from digital sales.

I Am Not A Human Being 2- projected 175-210K

^^^ How is this a disappointment? Especially since both of his previous non-Carter albums sold less.

I'm not heavy on MTV or the radio and I can still tell when a project has a big budget behind it. This is not one of those projects. A bunch of Wayne throwaway material and the only real promo was him sleeping in a hospital for a couple days.
