Bron's got good physical attributes to be a great defender. But he ain't committed like Kobe, Artest, KG, Tayshaun and those dudes. He's still a good defender though, he's just not great.

BUT, saying he's a bad defender cause he can't guard Durant all game long?

Kobe is the only one on that list that contributes as much as LeBron does offensively. Now ask Artest, KG & Prince to do what Kobe or Bron do night in night out & see if they're still as committed.

And this talk about Kobe being a more committed defender than Bron is basura. For one Kobe may be a better one-on-one perimeter defender (slightly) & better IQ defensively.... but it pretty much ends there. Then on top of that he picks & chooses when he want to play d which pretty much kills the notion of Kobe being more committed than LeBron. LeBron can guard 1-5 defensively... cant say the same for Kobe. Bron is a better help defender in the open court & is more athletic. At the end of the day defense is more hustle than IQ & LeBron just hustles more than Kobe especially at this point in Kobe's career. Its why Artest always guards the best player on the opposing team as opposed to Kobe... he's not the smartest defender on his team but he's the better one.

The Heat have good individual defenders. I never said Lebron is a bad defender. Wade, Chalmers, Batter, Haslem, are all good individual defenders. I am talking about people specifically talking about Bron as a GREAT defender. He has not achieve that upper echelon individual defensive ranking in my eyes. If he guards Durant for 30+ minutes and has him shooting under 35%, then yeah, my opinion will change, but as of right now, he is an great weakside/help defender and that's where it ends in my book.
