There’s no doubt that it’s a tough game but what exactly are civilians supposed to do if they don’t feel they’re being represented? And black folks have been discarded by these party’s for votes with nothing to show for it. So what do you suggest one should do? I’m legitimately curious bc I’m not that versed in politics beyond maybe a surface level

Its a numbers game most of the time. You can only accomplish what you have the numbers to do and you will rarely have the numbers to do anything truly transformational.


If you elect someone to the US Congress, then they work for they country and not for you or your district/state. A person in the US Congress is going to be bound by the nation's priorities as decided by the party in control, not their local constituency. Most of the "you've been in Congress for x amount of years and haven't did anything for xyz" sentiments can be explained by this. Its your state and city Legislature that creates laws that will effect you the most.


The best thing I can say is stay engaged. If you look at the GOP, their party took a lot of losses term after term but they didn't sit to the side and cry. The second Trump gave them daylight, they pounced and rammed thru shyt like Tax cuts and court nominations like crazy. You have to be an opportunist and get W's in where you can. You can't do that sitting on the sidelines pouting.
