Kinda hard for the stan-minded to accept that a lot of people don’t really fukk with Pac like that, especially people in Cube’s age range.

Pac wasn’t even taken serious in any best emcee conversations while he was alive. Everybody was talking about Rakim, KRS, Cube, Chuck D, G Rap, and later Nas, Biggie, Redman, Meth, Jay, etc. as best emcees…nicest on the mic. Mainstream popularity is different, as Pac was more popular than all them.

But it’s not hard to see why someone like Ice Cube who was already an established as one of the larger-than-life legends of rap when Pac was a Digital Underground backup dancer with a couple of albums that sounded almost like knockoff versions of Cube albums wouldn’t see him as up there.

Gang violence...
even though i would have had rakim in there, i dont disagree with this list at all. it is not egregious and he is one of the goats so his word should at least be respected. pac is one of the greatest icons and celebrities of rap. as a mainstream rapper, he spoke with quite a bit of meaning that is not that common today, but was more common in mainstream music of the past. he also used more simple wordplay and flows. when you look at it through that lens, it is not surprising that an older MC would not view Pac as more important than those 15 on the list.

Its so weird that people trip off who's not on someone's personal list...are we all supposed to have the same generic ass list?

everybody gotta have pac, nas, rakim, big, jay, face...?

its way more interesting for people to be honest about who they really fukked with

He still upset about Pac dissing him.
No he’s not. Watch the video. After the first four or five he named, he was pretty much just listing guys to fill out his 15 (he only ended up with 13). Pac just slipped his mind at that moment.

Y’all act like guys are walking around at all times with a top 5 or 15 stuck in their head ready to name guys off the top of their head. Usually when these lists happen guys just start naming dudes and people gonna get left off just because it’s in the moment. Same shyt when NBA players list their top hoopers.

:mjlol: this is pure semantics, there are links to older rap forums in the 90s, plenty of people claimed Pac to be their favourite or at least one of their favourite rappers. Obviously, Pac wasn't in the miracle lyrical subliminal criminal lane so no one is going to talk about him in that sense.

That being said, im actually surprised he has Wayne on that list

How does that contradict anything I said? Of course he was some peoples’ favorite.

Favorite rapper and best emcee aren’t the same thing and they definitely weren’t in the early 90’s. A lot of peoples’ favorite rapper was Doug E. Fresh or Hammer later but nobody said they were the BEST rapper. Everyone knew Rakim was the god. The fact that you would use the 2010’s Internet forum term “lyrical miracle” in reference to perceptions of early 90’s hip-hop shows your disconnect. :mjlol:
