Let's not pretend like Pac wouldn't have changed up too. Keep in mind, he started out as a "conscious" rapper then when he saw that his album sales weren't popping, he adopted the whole "Thug Life" persona.

And Ice Cube was WAY more raw back then compared to Pac.

You might be right Pac might have changed too so who knows. Pac was more outspoken than Ice Cube was. Always speak his mind.

You guys are getting to bent out of shape by the people who are defending him. JB said this as a 15 yr old of course people are just going to say oh he was being a silly/dumb kid. No one is trying to ruin a young guys career off of what he said as a teen. Plus we all know Justin has been trying to act black for a while so what he was saying probably was a poor joke rather than him actually being racist..... Now like I said in another thread I wouldn't defend his ass because I don't like what he said but I can rationalize why the next person would defend him.
:rudy: he was probably told to befriend black people in case the videos ever came out, they are his cover

Ice Cube's music was far more in your face. Pac was able to balance the black empowerment message and also the "we're all in this together" and "we're all humans" types of messages. But Pac never had a song like "Cave bytch" or "Black Korea".

Did anyone really expect Cube to come out against in 2014 at age 45 ?
Hes entrenched in hollyweird now,hes not gonna rock the boat esp not in the public eye...

Real talk.

"Death certificate" Cube was in his early 20s, and fueled with rage against whites largely because of getting jerked by Jerry Heller. Once his career rebounded, he quickly abandoned his anti-white stance, and has been kool aid grinnin', hyper-capitalist ever since. If anything, his attacks on whites was a carefully created marketing approach given the popularity of Islam, and the pro-black environment of hip hop at the time. People still holding on to that version of cube are playing themselves....it was an image, and it never existed in real life.

Yea his militant stance was short lived. I dont even think he said much in his NWA years other than the usual fukk whitey rhetoric.

Yea Cubes pro blackness of the early 90s to me is the most overrated thing in hip hop despite some of those albums being decent, like you said it was all a phony image he portrayed to sell records during an era where it was popular.
As you stated it was mostly aimed at Jerry Heller during that time where he split from NWA,he capitalized on a trend but hes always been a classic case of what i learned in english media 1A1 and that is TV is a construction of reality and in many respects the character he portrayed was exactly that...

Its funny how you can look back now at alot of cats in the 90s and look at the entire game differently cuz you realize now it wasnt what you thought it was at the time...

I still laugh years later at the fact that it was Muggs who produced a song on predator about the LA Riots wheres hes talking about killing the officers who beat Rodney King...

Yea it seems like Cube's militant persona was pretty much an act...went from rapping about killing cacs and police to making kids movies and now caping for racists. I aint mad at him for getting his money but why these nikkas always gotta go the extra step in defending this foolishness. Just say no comment and keep it moving :snoop:
