It's a decent start but will not address the disparity for the majority of working class and poor black people. If you are a black person seeking to start a business or buy a house what he said sounds pretty good but otherwise I don't see it really having an impact. The best thing he could do to help black folks immediately outside of reparations is to raise the minimum wage to at least 12 dollars an hour.That would immediately impact a large swath of black peoples lives.

I'm glad you mentioned home ownership because the tax cuts and jobs act affected me bigly since my tax bill went way up since I could not longer itemize pmi. I suspect many other black first time home owners are in the same position as I am since most of us don't have the capital to throw down 20% on thier first home.

Thankfully the democrats were able to slip that deduction into the last covid relief bill but I think it is a temporary solution for now.


Meanwhile trump is writing off the mortgage for his mansion as a business expense...
