That’s honestly a bullshyt post. Traffic hasn’t changed at all. Probably posted that on some weeknight at 2AM.

I’ve posted here that some days during rush hour it’s about 1-2 hours to go 10 miles, however later in that same day you can make it to San Diego from the same point in 2 hours which is about 100 miles away.

Right now to go to and from my company’s office building takes 1 hour and it’s only 9 miles away.

That 2nd picture was also the day before Thanksgiving traffic by LAX from back in 2019. I specifically remember watching that shot live on NBC 4. In general there’s also been less traffic because they’ve added more lanes compared to 4 years ago, but it’s still bad af.

Right now you can check it out here on Google Maps, red traffic as usual on all the usual spots on a regular ass Tuesday: 405, 105, 91, 10, 57, 60, Slauson, La Cienega, La Brea, Crenshaw, Stocker, Fairfax, Jefferson, etc. If anything, I’m thinking all the construction work and road repairs will take even longer now.

I grew up near there, in Oxnard/Port Hueneme, and when I say that the farming community is the heartbeat of the area, I am not exaggerating. Most of my friends were children of immigrants and farmers—the most loving and intentional people I've ever known.

I remember once driving north from LA to SF via 101 and seeing the farmworkers in the strawberry fields and thinking that is the most appalling backbreaking work. I can’t imagine those Medicaid recipients (as it has been put) doing this work. I can’t imagine regular white folk doing this.
