Cool.

I didn't follow the details leading up to the game's release at all. I got in the beta, I liked the gameplay, so I bought the game. That simple. I wasn't let down like you so I'm not gonna act butt hurt over the game. Regardless of the XP and Loot progression, the multiplayer is why I'm on the game like I am.
I got Into the alpha and the beta and have it the benefit of a doubt because we weren't at level cap but when it came out and they didn't do half the shyt they claimed I was pissed and rightfully so.

For anyone who thinks this is no big deal, or that OP just needs to 'not buy the game', realize that when companies use this model and rake in, other companies take note.

They then get to thinkin that since so many gamers will shell out for anything, they can give devs the ok to make games with dlc that should've been included at launch *cough Arkham Knight*. Even if said games aren't built with this as their main point..... that's some dangerous behavior gaming brehs.

Honest dlc, or even the rare ones that surpass a game to be their own thing (Far Cry Blood Dragon, AC IV Freedom Cry) are fine, but announcing dlc a week after launch and other underhanded shyt gets pointed out quick AF for non-Destiny type games

I don't play destiny. But considering Destiny is a game that doesn't have a sequel released every year,I dont see the problem with having DLC.

It will probably be another 3-4 years before another Destiny 2 comes out. Why not keep adding to the game as time passes. It will keep Destiny players dedicated to the game until part 2 comes out :manny:

Destiny is going be the future model for AAA gaming, release essentially a proof of concept for full pop and force gamers to shell out for update after update. The problem is that true AAA games are so expensive to make that you you will never have enough competition to create something that benefits the gamer.

*disclaimer - basing my comments of the posts, didnt watch the vid, i'm at work*

i see people keep saying activision/bungie are raping people's pockets and that this could be the way games go in the future...there is 1 issue with that thinking: destiny isnt a rev generating game like that, it's basically just a game with a huge budget....it isnt a yearly game like cod, madden, etc....there are no micro transactions in the game to get extra rev from...the only rev that is generated from the game is people purchasing the game and dlc, that's it....and that's the problem activision is facing right now...there was an article recently explaining this very thing.....they trying to figure out a way to get more money out the game, and that shyt aint happening...the only thing they've come with is charge higher prices for the dlc (specifically the exclusive taken king shyt(emotes and things, not the actual taken king dlc)...and we see how that shyt isnt going over....

as for the rest of the shyt about the game itself: whether it's fun, the rng system, etc...that has been talked about enough...at this point: if you havent either played the game and liked it; or played the game and didnt like it, you just need to stop talking about the game itself...it just looks weird you obsessing over a game you havent played just cause others play it....

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
:mjlol: These exact same words were spoken about COD and Madden. Industry seems to be doing just fine though.

These aren't even comparable situations, those are yearly releases of fully fleshed out games, the business model behind Destiny is something every other company can copy as a way of nickle and diming customers.

Destiny basically has the structure of a free to play game except it was $60 new and clearly had things held out of it for DLC purposes.

Fully fleshed out games wit basic, minor updates. You call different tackle animations, updated rosters, uniforms and playbooks every year breakthrough gaming? stop it. Even Madden and NBA2K players know they get raped.

COD nickle and diming with the map packs, weapons and suits. I'm not even gonna speak on the Capcom fukkery. All these devs do it. They all hold shyt back for DLC purposes. Pointing the finger at Destiny/Bungie saying these are the bad guys is laughable.

You can play the game standalone if you want, no forcing to buy expansions. The multiplayer works just like every single other FPS out there.

What rubbed me the wrong way is that when i paid for that first "expansion" pack it didn't download anything... which lead me to believe that this "expansion" was already on the disc that i payed 60 bucks for and that I'm paying an extra 30 just to unlock it... They released an unfinished game and they gonna dangle the rest of it in your faces at 30 bucks a pop....

the difference between Destiny and some of these other games that released DLC or expansion previously is that once you beat Destiny, it was obvious that it was only part of a whole, and once i got that first expansion i realized how i had been played.....

As much as i enjoyed the game, I didn't buy this last expansion and I'm not gonna buy anymore. And if Destiny 2 ever comes out, ima be skeptical about buying that.
