Not suprised

Trust me, he’s. Watch ‘The Shop’ episode that featured him, LeBron, etc. And there are other interviews where he spoke about it. Yes, it’s subtle but his body language shows he wants the role. It’s also the reason why he picked the ‘Luther’ role - to position himself for the ‘Bond’ role.
Anyway, I don’t think he’ll get it. The mixed breh from ‘Bridgerton’ (Rege-Jean Page) looks like he’s being groomed for the role & white Brits love. His dad is also white. And recently, I read that the director likes Michael Ward for the role. So, you never know.

everybody running the corrupt imperialistic empire is a puppet... cacs included
some puppets are at the top of the pyramid... some are at the bottom...
the fact remains... we hold the capability to operate at the top like any other cac
Being a puppet is easy. Being a high level puppet isn't..
Being a useful tool controlled by the puppetmasters who're pulling all the strings is easy. All you need to be is a sellout who can serve certain objectives/interests of the puppetmasters, to keep the empire rolling. But building a system with us as the puppetmasters is the difficult part. We're not anywhere close.

This is where I'm at. Very strange of him to say he's experienced racism but thinks we talk about it too much and should stop talking about it, because the world is obsessed with race. No, white people are obsessed with race, and we're victims of their own ignorance.Too many Black people think it’s their responsibility to eradicate racism.
I won’t call him a c00n, but that “racism is only as powerful as we allow it to be” comment is terribly misguided.![]()
The way OP titled it is way worse than what was written in the actual article.
In the end it even says this:
"Nevertheless, Elba acknowledges his race and says no matter what, he is still the “same black.”"
Naw this era of “musicians” definitely on that “I don’t make black music, I make music that everybody can enjoy” bullshytI never heard a black musician running away from blackness... because black musicians are the best in the game
Yeah that’s my biggest issue with what he said. Most peopl who haven’t really had the opportunity to travel the world and have philosophical conversations with a Greek person who was inspired to learn about black history by seeing Malcom X, or know that there is a segment of Russians who admire Angela Davis as a hero, or talked about the rise of racism through colonialism with a Vietnamese scholar. It’s therefore easy to make sweeping generalizations about entire groups of people. Once you do these things that’s a lot harder hence my understanding of an internationally acclaimed actor like Idris taking that stance - even if there are elements I disagree with. But I do get as an artist wanting to be perceived purely as an artist.Too many Black people think it’s their responsibility to eradicate racism.
