It depends, but most of the time yeah, that's a L.

Usually, you want to hear something along the lines of "talk to you soon" "see you soon", or something a little more assertive.

Welp I haven't heard or seen them since.

Not hearing anything from an employer is a dead giveaway too (then again I did have an employer give me a job offer after a whole year or not hearing from them too). "best of luck to you" ehh.

Depends on if it's the hiring manager or above.

If it's someone below the hiring manager, they may just mean 'best of luck' in the process.

I went to court yesterday to handle a previous missed court date that caused my license to be suspended. When I was done the judge told me “Good luck at the DMV,” which low key freaked me out lol. Had me thinking renewing my license was about to be hell.
