I'm 26 and I wouldn't get into a relationship with a chick that doesn't have a job and a car
...because to not have one at this point in your life says you have a lifestyle that I don't want to be a part of.
There are probably exceptions of course.. but not many.

A mans job is to protect and provide for his woman and family. How can you do that without a car or job?

Yeah, nikka thats exactly what we're saying. There is a difference between materialism, and wanting a man to at least be ambitious enough to have a car to pick her up with on a date, and a job to buy food.
Ya'll make this thread, and then the next minute make a thread laughing at single mothers because they took chances on broke, go nowhere, losers,who stuck them with three kids and not a damn clue how to pay or provide for them.

that's a rather narrow minded point of view. it's way too over-simplistic...
case by case basis. but it doesn't necessarily make her materialistic. a chick should want to be with a dude who has ambition. If she meets an ambitious dude who happens to be broke at the time because of circumstances and she still doesn't want to be with him, then yeah she might be materialistic.
but at the same time, him having no job and no car might be a hint (not a clear indicator but a hint) that he is not ambitious. (also depends on the economy, city he lives in, age, culture of the dude, etc, etc)
