Trump called the virus a hoax and he's gone against Fauci numerous times ( on the drug hydrocloroquine, on the estimated time on when the government to open up businesses, on stay at home orders...). Trump literally stopped a reporter from asking Fauci about hydrochloroquine yesterday because he knew that Fauci would say something totally opposite of what he was saying about the drug.

Trump has straight out implied that the drug is a cure for the virus and that hasn't been proven yet, fakkit. He shouldn't be up there telling Americans that shyt. And he knows he's being duplicitous that's why he tries to stop reporters from asking Fauci about it.

Exactly. We already saw how Obama handled two pandemics. H1N1 we declared a national emergency early, and had resources available. Ebola...the US led the global effort to stamp it out in many parts of Africa and prevent a spread to the US (although to be fair it would be very hard for it to spread in a developed country like the US).
Obama would have been monitoring this in December when the intel reports were being released to the government. There would have been a national directive to stock up and be ready for the surge. A lot of people would die but not due to the govt being caught unprepared. Look at California's response and how they're bending the curve. Would there be republicans going insane and refusing to act? Of course. But the govt response would be competent.
