Modern-day popular, mainstream rap is directly aimed at young, impressionable black minds in order to help fulfill the quotas of the Prison Industrial Complex (aka modern-day slavery)

and also to keep us in the mindstate that THEY want us in (dumbed down. unintelligent, materialistic, not trusting each other, etc)

and more importantly, its being used as a form of "media propaganda" to broadcast the most negative stereotypes of the black race to a worldwide audience.

The fact that so many of you supposed "black" posters are angry and offended by what he said, tells me that you all are completely blind to past history and the tactics of white supremacy.

Study the past (blackface/Minstrel Shows, etc) and today's hip-hop will start to make sense.

The white man WANTS you to think its "just entertainment" and judging by the responses in this thread so far....it's working.

No one if forced to listen. Stop it

The power is in the consumers not to listen. Best believe if ppl stopped listening to trap music, labels would stop signing trap artists. Cuz while what u said has some truth to it, these music labels' #1 concern is profit. nikkas like kdot don't get mainstream success becuz the labels tht signed them were conscious (i assume u already know this) but because they believe tht they have the talent n the fanbase 2 draw a profit if not right then, then sometime in the near future. Priming young black youth to follow these stereotypes is simply icing on the cake. I say all of that 2 say tht you should never feel tht certain music is being 'pushed' onto you and to never forget your power as a consumer

The unknown
I am fascinated by how so many of our people will acknowledge that mainstream media has played a major part in our social conditioning but perceive rap as an exception. It makes no sense. Listening to ANYTHING reptitively will have an effect on your sub conscious and trap rap is no exception. Its unfortunatr that this music has extremely self destructive messages.
Countering the effect this music (which is social conditioning whether you acknowledge it or not) has on the minds of our children will be one of our peoples greatest challenges.

100% Facts

Lol So if I listen to Joey Badass will I turn into a dirty queens nikka that hangs outside of a bodega with timbs on?

Where does he repetitively say that in his lyrics?
