The power is in the consumers not to listen. Best believe if ppl stopped listening to trap music, labels would stop signing trap artists. Cuz while what u said has some truth to it, these music labels' #1 concern is profit. nikkas like kdot don't get mainstream success becuz the labels tht signed them were conscious (i assume u already know this) but because they believe tht they have the talent n the fanbase 2 draw a profit if not right then, then sometime in the near future. I am fascinated by how so many of our people will acknowledge that mainstream media has played a major part in our social conditioning but perceive rap as an exception. It makes no sense. Listening to ANYTHING reptitively will have an effect on your sub conscious and trap rap is no exception. Its unfortunatr that this music has extremely self destructive messages.
Countering the effect this music (which is social conditioning whether you acknowledge it or not) has on the minds of our children will be one of our peoples greatest challenges.
