If Arenas never got hurt and kept up his level of play but retired already all of these analytics stat nerds would try to shyt on his legacy the way they did Iverson and are trying to do to Kobe now.
Lol people shyt on Iverson for a good reason, people really don't shyt on Kobe like you think just because some think he's borderline top 20 doesn't mean they shyt on him lol

at that time pass first pgs were the wave..everyone described gil as an undersized shooting guard..

Dude was a joy to watch. could put up 30 like it was nothing, also he did those ridiculous jumpers from long range like curry does. In some ways he was curry before curry
This, coli isn't ready to hear it tho

Gil in his prime went toe-to-toe with LeBron James in the '06 playoffs and was a problem for any guard defensively. Can't think of many defenders who legitimately stopped him regularly. He has scored at least 30 points on every team in the league except for the Blazers. He was almost on par with Kobe in terms of clutch play in '06 and '07 if not a step below. Could carry an offense (and he did carry Washington considering only like two other guys were net positives on those teams) and stepped up in the playoffs. Pretty damn good bargain for a second round pick. He could've kept big scoring up around 29-30 I bet, still would be a decent scorer today had he not gotten into other issues and stayed healthy. Was a great mix of threes/slashing/free-throws.

He wasn't exactly a bad shooter; he was above-average and considering he created about 75% of his own shots, he was a good shooter and when he got hot there was no way to beat him. Gil was just a matchup nightmare and a baller even if he did have his moments of being too ISO-heavy and out of control. I like the Harden+Lillard comps

:wow:
