If ATL puts out one more hot rapper/producer combo, are they the GOAT hip hop city?

It's not even about one more hot rapper anymore, Atlanta is established as the premier destination for hip hop & entertainment. Your favorite rapper got a house here. They prolly go to a studio off of Northside Dr (for outta towners, there's a lot of great studios off of Northside Dr). You can find any style of hip hop music b/c EVERYBODY lives here & everybody is trying to get it. Its competition, butnIt's all love though. If you think ATL is just trap/snap music, you either are ignorant or aren't paying attention.

And we just really getting started. Much respect to NYC & LA for their contributions to the genre, but we on top now

:yeshrug:

Its only one studio on Northside Dr. and they do mostly Jazz and Blues, i think you meant Chattahoochee Ave & Defoors Ave in West Midtown...that's where all.the studios is at. Northside Dr ain't far at all, but those are 2 different neighborhoods....

ATL radio plays their local artists. So if anybody is sick of other regions copying ATL, be mad at radio stations not ATL artists. Its a local sound that blew up IMO and continues to do so.

I didnt realize this til i moved down here. they play the hell out of their local artists in clubs and on radio

ATL is tied with LA for second most important rap city imo :manny:

If you were a aspiring rapper from Milhuwake and you had a free ride to either NY , ATL , or LA to pursue your rap career. Where would you go first? Where would you go last :usure:

Depends on what kind of rapper you are. If I'm a young Lupe, then I'm off to New York, if I'm a young Chief Keef then I'm off to Atl.

I can't think of an artist, not from the west coast, who would choose LA, so they should be taken off the list. :patrice:

Exactly :c00nj:

The underlying message of my post is that slightly falls behind ATL in terms of relevance.

Nobody would pick LA over ATL or New York when it comes to music.

Miami is about to start cutting into Atlanta's shine, btw.

its all about where the labels are at.

its not like Atlanta is making groundbreaking music.

No I meant what I said. It's alotta studios off of Northside Dr extending from West Midtown near Georgia Tech all the way into Buckhead going towards I-75

11th St Studios off of 11th St & Northside
Stankonia is off of Northside
Jeezy & CTE, Wale used to record at this studio off of 17th St across from the Ikea
just to name a few

Chattahoochee & Defoors are off of Howell Mill which is where Grand Hustle studios, among others is located. Defoors & Chattahoocee don't cross Northside BTW, they switch to different street names
