If they sold an entertainment centered PC with a simple intuitive os that would update itself and let me easily get to all my entertainment I would buy one. But that would just be a gaming console

The gamer likes standardized competition. Same console, same controller, same frame rates, same graphics, etc. Best man wins.

The gamer doesn't feel like keeping up with the joneses. We trash pay-to-win games, but at the same time ignore the pay-to-win gaming rig aspect of PCs.

The gamer may not want to invest in the initial price point of a worthwhile PC.

No one answered it because the statement isn't even true. The only similarities are the hardware that's inside the console. PC gaming can be a pain in the ass sometimes.... Don't ask questions referring to PC gaming if you've never even tried it

how about every console having apps like netflix, pandora, etc

then having broke ass web browsers....

these are things that work flawlessly on a pc. if consoles are just for gaming then why don't they just stick to gaming instead of trying to do everything that a pc can already do?
