Cy Young played when the rules were not only different but the level of competition was A ball status. He pitched his entire career in an all white dead ball era. His 511 wins should not apply to none today, yet "he still holds the record". This is why I can't take baseball seriously. Their game has changed so much that you can't compare stats from one generation or era to the next. Babe Ruth is the same way. He came up right after the dead ball era when teams and players were still adjusting. Pitchers were used to throwing strike for so long because they never had to worry about nikkas hitting home runs. i dont hold stats and records to such importance, i like when my team wins and when the game is entertaining

i dont know a singe stat of babe ruth except for 714. his legend is because he was an outsized personality from an orphanage, played for historic teams, was until 9 years ago the center of the beef between said teams, and hit home runs, the sexiest part of baseball.
