People like to forget Kobe spent his prime years with Kwame and Smush Parker in his starting lineup, as an individual player there's been nobody in this era as good as Kobe at his best, if he had a good number 2 option in 04-7 he would killed shyt. Kobe also shytted on the Twin Tower Spurs numerous times.

Playoffs:
Duncan - 25.6ppg, 13.0rpg, 3.8apg, 2.4bpg 48%

Shaq - 22.4ppg, 12.8rpg, 2.2apg, 2.2bpg 52%

Record - tied 15 and 15

Kobe averaged 28ppg on 47% shooting against the Spurs, Shaq was less than dominant when he had to play them. As good as Shaq and Kobe were together, Duncan and Kobe probably would have been better.

There's no question Duncan and kobe would have been better than kobe and shaq

Duncan has a work ethic similar to kobe, there would have been more of a mutual respect

Popovich already said kobe is the gawd

Go on on youtube if you don't believe. I have love for Shaq because without Diesel that's 3 less rings I see as a fan, but Duncan was getting the better of Shaq. Notice how Shaq is always really humble when it comes to Duncan. Duncan's defense is what puts him ahead. The Lakers could never defend the pick and roll with Shaq out there. His spirit has made it so they still can't defend it now. Gone but not forgotten. :to:

dog i watched that shyt while it was happening i dont have to youtube anything
its 22 n 12 on 50% vs 24 n 12 on 56%
to say shaq never gave tim the business would be retarded

We have different definitions of giving him the business then. Shaq was giving everyone else like 30 and 15, but that wasn't happening against Duncan. He looked a lot less superman like. I'm not saying he never got a basket on Duncan. But everyone else had to double Shaq. TD was holding him to less numbers single-handedly while still getting his.

I'm not mad at anyone who says Duncan is the best player of this generation. I still think that if Kobe wasn't playing with bums for 3 years that the argument would slide in his favor. Had Kobe gone to the Clippers, things would be more clear.

Shaq's averages were down across the board when he went up against the Spurs.

They play 2 different positions so it's hard to compare.

But... In an All-Time draft Duncan is going ahead of Kobe simply because he's a 7 footer. And Duncan would also have a strong case for best ever at his position, a claim that Kobe, despite his stans, will never be able to make.

It's close but he was the main guy for 3 titles to a degree....Parker was a big piece of that. Duncan was never better than prime Shaq though. Shaq absolutely killed everyone in the Finals..Duncan got slapped by Shaq the majority of his career.

LOL@going to the 2003 shyt yet refusing to show the times Shaq murdered that guy and his whole damn team during 3 routes to titles that nobody could do a damn thing about. Not Nowitski....not Duncan...not Garnett...not McGrady...none of them.

You can put Duncan with Kobe...that's fine but Shaq without a Jordan team around is still gonna be a multiple time champion because he just can't be stopped for the duration. If you would of put Iverson with Shaq, he would of won. McGrady? Same thing. Any of those sidekicks would of had easier careers under the Shaq umbrella.

LOL@these nyggas running to Youtube for their edited highlights knowing DAMN fukkING well no one was dominating or stopping Shaq in his prime..Duncan included. He slammed on him repeatedly and it took double teams to even slow his momentum and that always left someone open. He was damn near unstoppable. His team coming up short is why he didn't win titles early in his career during the Jordan era.
