I can accept the reasonable argument that Biggie would not have risen to the same level of stardom without Puff's vision and marketing muscle behind him, but to say Big would have remained unknown and died penniless or whatever is just the kind of obnoxious hate threads we've come to expect around here.
There's a reason why Puff was so eager to start his own label after hearing big --- he knew he had a once in a lifetime talent on his hands that he could mold and shape and build an empire off of, and Biggie was largely a finished and polished product when Puff met him. Why are we still waiting for Puff to create another star with the type of love, respect, admiration, and popularity of a Biggie smalls since the mans death?
