"Getting killed" refers to the disparity in quality of verses, Nas and AZ both killed Lifes A bytch. Noone got killed. Nas IMO has the worst verse on Affirmative Action too, doesn't mean he got killed either.

I like Nas verse more because it's more of a personal story where az is speaking in general... and the San Quentin reference is weird on a NY album. Plus I thought AZ ended his verse good enough where Nas had a classic ending to his. AZ had the superior flow which is what really gets people.
The difference is you could wake up today like "az gave nas that work" then tomorrow you could wake up like "nah....nas killed this" where as on renegade the only thing you wake up thinking is "damn....jay...sorry it had to be you"
