It wouldn't have been anywhere nearly as big as of a deal because both of them are celebrities. Yeah a Beyoncé album would sell, but it wouldn't garner nearly as much attention. People are not only alluding to it being about Jay Z, but they were dissecting the lyrics and how they related to their relationship. They even went as far as trying to figure out who he cheated on her with. I mean Adele made an album about her relationship and people weren't really focused on the dude who inspired the album.
