If Jay Z never hooked up with Beyonce, what would his position be right now?

This is a weird question, we don't know what would happen to any of them. If Jay never met Ty-ty he might've been working at Microsoft for all we know.
When they first got together they both did the same numbers and they've been doing the same numbers since then in terms of sales. Sometimes Jay moves more, sometimes less at least in the US.

No one is buying Jay-z albums due to Beyonce or vice versa. And his business moves have nothing to do with Beyonce, more like Steve Stoute, Jay Brown and those type of people. As far as international fame outside of music, yes Beyonce has obviously helped that. Just like it has helped Beyonce by being in a "power couple".

And her letting Jay-z takeover her career from her father was the best thing she ever did in terms of focusing on putting out dope music, real issues and becoming a respected legend instead of a girly airhead who just put out a bunch of mediocre hits in which she had no creative input. No one knows what changed that.

Is that why he's been filling tours and headlining festivals for like 10 years in several European countries :jbhmm:. Cause unknown people usually do that.

What has helped Jay-z the most is him putting out big pop songs, that's what takes your world wide. Dirt off your shoulder targets hiphop fans, ESOM and Forever Young etc targets pop fans. But in 2016, any dope hiphop targets pop fans.
If Jay z was working at a gas station would he be able to pull Beyoncé?

Idk. His marriage to beyonce is a major factor in keeping him relevant Beyonce doesn't need Jayz at all. She's 1 of the 3 biggest artists on the planet next to adele and rihanna. Everything she does his name is attached to it why is this? To keep his name relevant to the "pop" audience. Other than hip hop fans no other group will be checking from Jay.

She had 2 flopped singled that didn't make the album, and her label pushed her album back from 02 to 03 and stated that it was cause she had no single. By that time Bonny n Clyde had blew up and jayZ was on crazy in love.

I can't think of the 2 flopped songs off the top of my head tho

U think that same old white man knew who 50 ect. Is? Ask a hip hop fan from Europe if they know who jay was. I'm pretty much 100% they do. That comparison is silly. Old whites in America barley know who he, Wayne and whoever the most popular artist.

But anyway jayZ did more for Beyoncé solo career then the other way around
You underestimating 50 popularity worldwide . Outside of Em....50 along with snoop are the most well know living rappers worldwide

"Work it out" was the lead single. But it flopped hard and her label made her go back to the lab and make more mature music and music about her relationship wit the king of hip hop(at the time) :mjpls: and her album came out the next year

You buggin

Beyoncé is like the biggest icon since Michael Jackson

Beyoncé was nowhere near icon status at the beginning of her solo career. The appeal of musical groups was dwindling and Beyoncé going solo was the next logical step. Jay Z's "'03 Bonnie and Clyde" featuring Beyoncé jumpstarted Beyoncé's solo career from a success standpoint. It was the most successful single she had as a solo act. The label piggybacked off of the relationship and dropped "Crazy In Love" as the first single from her solo debut and the rest is history.

First of all, jay z was not "hip hops leader" in 2002. He was never as famous as Eminem, nelly, or 50. Even DMX was bigger than jay for awhile. Jay marrying beyonce definitely helped him pull the wool over people's eyes. I'm a huge jay fan but people act like he was the second coming of Jesus in his heyday. Now his longevity in itself is amazing, don't get it twisted. But beyonce definitely helped him stay relevant.

How popular Jay Z was at the time is irrelevant. Jay Z is a part of the reason why Beyoncé was initially successful as a solo artist. They both benefited from their relationship.
