Hasn't Kobe basically sat out 2 years due to injury anyway?
oh, ok. so it was completely feasible for them to acquire both. i always assumed the lakers only had enough pieces for one or the other.
hindsight is always 20/20...but its funny how the league thought:
eric gordan
chris kaman
al farouq aminu
was much more valuable than:
goran dragic
kevin martin
luis scola
The Pelicans would have been much better off if the Lakers trade went thru. But then again, with a slightly better team they may have won more games, and not ended up with the #1 pick to get Anthony Davisguess it all worked out in the end. For the Clippers and the Pelicans at least.
That shyt ruined us. The dwight fiasco has only compounded things for the team with the way jim behaved. It's no surprise the team is where it's at, it was a perfect storm.
Kobe gonna ruin Xmas for you fatherless hacks when he breaks the record hope he does it in Xmas game in chi town to add to the etherMj fault for being a low life gambling scumKobe gonna ruin Xmas for you fatherless hacks when he breaks the record hope he does it in Xmas game in chi town to add to the ether
Rest him we need to stop winning these useless gamesLakers have 6 games before that Bulls game, I hope it doesn't take him that long to score 31-32 points....
if he doesn't have a great game against Spurs he'll do it in the game after that (Timberwolves)
no offense my nig but jim buss was the worst thing to happen y'all
Jordan missed 147 games due to his retirement (aka, ban) so that * 30ppg + 32292 (current points) puts him around 36,700 total points.
Kobe is at 32262. So he's 4,440 points shy. If he averages 25ppg for the rest of his career (which is unlikely) he'll need another 178 games to catch jordan.
That means he'll have to finish out this season, play the entire next season, plus almost half of the following season. All without missing any major time, all while averaging 25 points per game. I dont see that happening. I dont see a team giving kobe enough fga per game for him to achieve 25 ppg for that long.
But say Kobe finished out this season at his current clip. Then he would have 33762. Lets say he played next year and averaged 20ppg. Then he would have 35,400 points. Then for the 2016-2017 season averaged 15ppg. That would put him at 36,600....only 100 points shy of Jordan.
So the only way I see Kobe catching him is if he accepts a diminished role after this year, and continues to play at least a couple more seasons. Of course this still assumes he stays healthy.
It was suppose to be Pau/Odom for CP3 and Bynum plus a 1st for Dwight. That's why the league stepped in, cuz dan gilbert and mark cuban started crying foul about how LA could even be allowed a trade like that.

that ratioI'm already in red, what they gonna do un-dap me?![]()

if Kobe wasnt basically sitting behind Shaq his first 2-3 years, he'd pass Kareem by now

he wasnt that good back then though his teamates used to hate how many shots he tookbreh he got way easier looks and points cuz of shaq getting ALL the attentionif Kobe wasnt basically sitting behind Shaq his first 2-3 years, he'd pass Kareem by now
