Norfeast groovin…
oh, ok. so it was completely feasible for them to acquire both. i always assumed the lakers only had enough pieces for one or the other.

hindsight is always 20/20...but its funny how the league thought:

eric gordan
chris kaman
al farouq aminu

was much more valuable than:

goran dragic
kevin martin
luis scola

The Pelicans would have been much better off if the Lakers trade went thru. But then again, with a slightly better team they may have won more games, and not ended up with the #1 pick to get Anthony Davis :yeshrug: guess it all worked out in the end. For the Clippers and the Pelicans at least.

That shyt ruined us. The dwight fiasco has only compounded things for the team with the way jim behaved. It's no surprise the team is where it's at, it was a perfect storm.

Lakers have 6 games before that Bulls game, I hope it doesn't take him that long to score 31-32 points....

if he doesn't have a great game against Spurs he'll do it in the game after that (Timberwolves)

Jordan missed 147 games due to his retirement (aka, ban) so that * 30ppg + 32292 (current points) puts him around 36,700 total points.

Kobe is at 32262. So he's 4,440 points shy. If he averages 25ppg for the rest of his career (which is unlikely) he'll need another 178 games to catch jordan.

That means he'll have to finish out this season, play the entire next season, plus almost half of the following season. All without missing any major time, all while averaging 25 points per game. I dont see that happening. I dont see a team giving kobe enough fga per game for him to achieve 25 ppg for that long.

But say Kobe finished out this season at his current clip. Then he would have 33762. Lets say he played next year and averaged 20ppg. Then he would have 35,400 points. Then for the 2016-2017 season averaged 15ppg. That would put him at 36,600....only 100 points shy of Jordan.

So the only way I see Kobe catching him is if he accepts a diminished role after this year, and continues to play at least a couple more seasons. Of course this still assumes he stays healthy.

This is just dumb about his retirement who secretly bans someone that doesn't make sense I don't get this theory.

Kobe isn't close to MJ. It's taken a thousand more shots and minutes to pass him.

What if Jordan didn't break his foot his second year?
What if Kobe didn't spend potential practice time to make horrible rap songs?
What if Jordan continued playing with Brad Sellers nikkas and shot the ball 35 times a game the rest of his career?
What if Kobe landed on a sharp object when Reggie Miller body slammed him?

if Kobe wasnt basically sitting behind Shaq his first 2-3 years, he'd pass Kareem by now
breh he got way easier looks and points cuz of shaq getting ALL the attention

he put up 30 with him in 02

and 35 without him (once)

and he's been consistently less than that 02 ppg since 07
