I agree...
They just having fun, lol. I have no problems with that video.
But they really gotta get these role players to play hungry.

This GOAT stuff is bullshyt.
If you are 60 years old, you probably consider Wilt or Russell to be the best ever.
If you're 35-50, you probably think MJ is the best ever. But MJ had the added benefit of coming into his prime at the same time that the marketing/media/hype machine came into prominence. There were no "I wanna be like Wilt" campaigns in the 1960s.
If you're under 35 you probably think Kobe is the best ever.
Lebron also suffers a bit because people in this era don't see the greatness of a bigger, more powerful player. The last 30 years have seen the great players often being seen as Guards. Julius Erving, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant...
People don't appreciate guys like Tim Duncan, Lebron James, Karl Malone....powerful taller players who don't necessarily exhibit flashy crossovers and stuff like that.
But it's funny to me though. There are guys on the coli who complain that Timmy and Lebron aren't exciting to watch...but scream about how Floyd Mayweather Jr is the best ever, as if he's giving the fans exciting Arturo Gatti-esque battles in the ring...rather than landing 8-16 for 36 minutes and just flat-out beating his opponents.

Nobody is saying the marketing machine made Jordan. The recent "marketing/nike/gatorade made jordan" narrative has to be the silliest, most poorly thought out argument against Jordan's greatness. Jordan made moments. Lebron talks about moments he could make if he wanted to but never does. That's all it comes down to. Jordan made dramatic moments that made you talk about him. Nike/Gatorade didn't make those moments. Those weren't CGI created moments. Jordan's style of play, dominance of the game, game-winning shots are what lured people in. Without those, there is nothing to sell/market/etc. Like chris rock said of drugs, "you don't sell drugs; they sell themselves". You didn't have to sell Jordan to the people. His game sold him. Something lebron's game (brute force, unimaginative, insecure, confused look under pressure), as you mentioned, can't do, which is why he's always running his mouth, trying to tell you what he can do without ever doing it. Lebron is his own biggest fan and worst enemy: "I can win the dunk contest, i can shoot 90% from the line, I can cover all 5 positions - gimme a DPOY award, gimme 37 shots and I'm scoring 70". GOAT sports clown.
If the "marketing hype machine" benefited jordan, then it damn sure should benefit lebron. You don't think nike and them would love to go from one cash cow to the next? Lebron is a goody-two-shoe, you can't find any dirt on him. Ain't no better athlete to market right now than lebron if nike wanted to make another MJ. No cheating on his wife, no PED use, no orgies, no domestic violence, no drug use, no arrests, no anything. Family man, great teammate, creates a fun environment for his teammates. He is a marketer's dream. But his game is so fukking ugly, you cant trick people into liking it or him. His career is one big ass loop of him donkey konging his way to the hoop for a clumsy layup or one handed dunk. There was nothing to hype or sell or trick the people about Jordan's game. You didn't have to be told that what you were watching was great as you have to do with lebron. Marketing didn't cease to exist once Jordan retired. At the end of the day, Lebron's game and accomplishments aren't as marketable as Jordan's.
I was born in the 80's and consider Magic the goat based on the tapes I've watched. This GOAT stuff is bullshyt.

Nobody is saying the marketing machine made Jordan.
But it without a doubt took him to another level.
It's not the same today as it was then.
There's no athlete around today that can achieve the kind of hype and glory that Jordan/Gretzky/Bo Jackson did.
There's too much competition and too many potential downfalls today for any athlete to achieve that kind of stardom.
There's too much competition because social media/traditional media/marketing all have other people to glorify and give attention to, so nobody gets as big.Who is lebron's competition? If he is one of the top 5 GOATs as his stans like to claim, who are his competitors?
What does "Potential downfall to achieve that kind of stardom" even mean? Celebrity worship is at an all-time high. Stars are being born without any talent. Lebron is the supposed goat and should reach that kind of stardom based on that alone. Lebron is a spokesman for multiple companies. His potential reach is greater than Jordan's ever was due to how small the world has become through technological advancements in social connectivity. There is no excuse.
There's too much competition because social media/traditional media/marketing all have other people to glorify and give attention to, so nobody gets as big.
It's like when Johnny Carson had the Tonight Show in the 70s or 80s drawing tens of millions of viewers a night. Today nobody gets even close to those numbers. It's a similar thing with athletes.
The thing about potential downfalls has to do with the more aspects of a celebrity's life that we are exposed to, the more likely we are to find out things about them that we don't like, so it's a bit harder to lionize them. And that prevents people from getting quite as big. Sure, Lebron can have a global reach...but it's never going to have that "mystical" or "legendary" tone to it that it had with Jordan or Magic or some of the earlier athletes.
Consider Mickey Mantle, one of the most reckless womanizers and alcoholics around. Do you think if he played today that he'd be anywhere near the legend that he was in the 1950s?
Not a chance.
I'm saying Jordan's legacy was boosted in part by the media machine that came into prominence during his era.So are you saying jordan was the biggest superstar of all-time and no one will ever surpass his stardom?
Your argument falls apart when there are stars bigger than lebron, competing and beating him out within the same space that he is in. Why isn't he flourishing in that same space? There has to be a biggest star just as there was in jordan's day. The reason why lebron isn't the biggest and not only won't ever reach jordan's stardom, but won't even reach the stardom of the biggest stars today, is because as I said before, his game doesn't lend itself to gather a mass following.
Lebron has been in the league for 12 years, and as I stated before, what dirt can you find out about him? Your potential downfall theory means no one would follow anyone. Kim Kardashian has a sex tape and is seen the world over as a smut and has more twitter followers than lebron james. Chris brown beat the shyt outta rihanna and only a third less twitter followers. A person's personal life doesn't stop one from getting big if you are truly talented and great. Katy perry has 70 million twitter followers.
Lebron will never have that mythical reach because there is nothing mythical about him.
