Him beating the monstars is the single best display of GOATness ever to touch the hardwood. Dude beat that squad with an undersized bugs bunny as his #2 option and leading rebounder. Not to mention played every position also the coach started the game off as the center (in yo face magic) and shot 100% going 22 for 22 meanwhile kobe is shooting below 50
No rebounds were recorded in the game by either team, a testament to the high levels of offensive efficiency on both sides. back in those days they really let the teams play there were no fouls during the entire game personally i think marvin the martian was paid off by the monstars boss to swallow the whistle but i digress becuz not even marvin the crooked ass martian can stop the heart of a champion. I dont think people would call kobe better than MJ just because he would have more rings. I think its moreso If jordan retires he is viewed in a different light. That would mean he been out the game 20 years so we dont have nearly as many memories of him doing GOAT shyt because of a smaller sample size. No flu game, no 72 win team or 69 win team, no byron russell game winner, no #45 black and red bulls jersey that made it cool to wear jerseys everywhere, all of his stats get reduced about 1/3.
and all this stuff never happens either
His resume just wouldnt be as impressive. Kobe would have passed him on all levels (not just championships) so he would be viewed as better because of it. Any thoughts of what MJ would have done is pure speculation no different than imagining what Benji Wilson could have been. Just a couple of chicago legends with promise unfulfilled.
