I think it would have divided rap fans maybe more so later on.

Like some people would have likened it to a KMD album cover or when a lot of miltant rappers say these rappers should be hung, just literal. Only later would people have made the argument that is contradictory. but in the short term people would have gotten off on it like it was dope and only later realize it was crass.

That's something that goes beyond Nas, a lot of rappers do stuff like that that's a bit contradictory (See Pac Hit em Up, Jay Super Ugly, any militant social concious rapper that threatens to hang any mainstream rapper)

In some ways, the fact this didnt happen actually gave light to that conversation and about how much heat can you really do before you go over the line with beef and why later on other rappers that tried over the line stunts got disliked and battling and beef as a whole got stale.

nah would have been wack and quite hypocritical that someone as pro-black as Nas would play around with lynching imagery aimed at another black man. shyt is ignorant and I'm glad he didn't do it.

yup

if hot97 would have allowed this to happen it would have greatly hurt nas career as well as hot97 as a station

people always like to mention stuff like "oh jay was hurt by ether"

but look at the degree nas went to animatronics are NOT cheap nas spent this money and even though he didnt use it dude aint get a refund lol

but to take it this far

your definitely emotional dont care who you are

and he ran to power 105 to complain and bytch about it after hot97 said no he left and didnt perform just walked out of summer jam

but anyway

a black man doing a mock lynching of a black man would in no way have any positive spin on it at all

yea a lot of internet morons would be on some "fukk camel nas god nas true king"

but anyone with that low level on intelligence doesnt have a valid voice in life

to think doing this would have elevated nas in any aspect is beyond constipated thought

although it didnt happen thankfully the fact nas attempted this to be will always be a low point in his career and as a person

nikkas is so lost calling Nas a c00n for this idea...

Do people forget that Jay-Z talked about leaving his used condoms on Nas daughter baby seat in "Super Ugly"?

That doesn't justify paying some white folks thousands/millions of dollars to simulate a hanging. And nikkas like to go on and on about how emotional Jay's reactions were...

And don't forget that as far as Jay took it with that kind of talk, he caught a fair amount of backlash. A lot of nikkas gave the the battle to Nas just because they felt he went too far to try and hurt his feelings with super ugly.

This is my first time seeing the puppet though...wow...:merchant::huhldup::laugh:

Talking about hanging in a historical context, it's more so about an attempt to dethrone the "king" at the time, not a lynching "yall nikkas all hail the king is dead..."

would have been a GOAT moment

i guess im not thinkin about the historical context, because nas is black. you think he isnt aware of the historical context :what: people were hung all the time, not to discount the awful shyt that went on in this country but it doesnt automatically equal white mobs lynching black man if he hung a jay z effigy

remember when the american colonists were hanging king george in effigy? i look at it as exactly the same thing
