Mm, a bit uncomfortable, glad it didn't happen to be honest, I don't think people should be hanging eachother, even like that, considering it in a historic context.
tbh if went down I would have to turn in my Nas Stan card can't have a black man lynching another one in front of a crowd of cacs

Yeah that would've been a bad look for Nas

The craziest thing about the whole situation is that Hot97 would have gladly let Jay have a fake lynching with a Nas puppet. Gladly.
First of all, that's speculation, but either way you can't blame Jay because he had more power than Nas. The one fact we know is that Nas was ready to do it, he got saved by his inability to get it done.

Speculation, whatever. We all know that Hot 97 woulda let Jay get away with murder on that Summer jam platform. Jay having more power shouldn't be the reason that they would have allowed ol' boy to do whatever he wanted to on that stage.

imagine someone photoshopping a  onto the puppet :laff::laff::laff:
Wonder if there would have been a pic to do that from. We weren't getting concert footage like that in 2002. Its crazy to think that with The epicness of Summer Jam 01 and all we have is word of mouth, a grainy shot of the Prodigy pic and zero audio

*edit*
crap audio

Sorry but I don't participate in "coulda woulda shoulda" stuff, the one thing we all know is that Nas was ready to do it and got shut down. I don't know what world you live in but power means everything on those situations, the fact that they let Nas walk away and might not have let Jay walk away as easily is a good bet, but who knows for sure? No one.

Uptown, Downtown, Switzerland
but on the real, nas lost his mind for a bit after his mom died
he was ready to go at everyone
i remember reading in xxl or something that he made songs dissing a whole bunch of rappers for gods son but erased them

need to hope someday a he made for Cam manages to slip out of the vault because even though Cam apologized hearing a rapper who you have no real beef with diss your dying mother and saying he'll piss in your kids face had to evoke some fire in him.

Jay had Michael Jackson on there SummerJam stage i think they might have let him do what he wanted.

edit- but saying that, didn't he try and get Star fired from Hot97 after the Aaliyah stuff ? and it never happened so..

yup

if hot97 would have allowed this to happen it would have greatly hurt nas career as well as hot97 as a station

people always like to mention stuff like "oh jay was hurt by ether"

but look at the degree nas went to animatronics are NOT cheap nas spent this money and even though he didnt use it dude aint get a refund lol

but to take it this far

your definitely emotional dont care who you are

and he ran to power 105 to complain and bytch about it after hot97 said no he left and didnt perform just walked out of summer jam
It had nothing to do with just Jay Z by himself and his disses

Nas' moms had JUST passed away and he was getting shytted on from all corners

It's pretty understandable that he was emotional as hell and lashed out as a loose cannon

Not because of no damn Takeover or Supa Ugly :pachaha:

I would have forgiven Nas and still be a fan cause I think it was just in the heat of battle and an error of judgment, trying to do something controversial and just not well thought out. If I was his management I would have given him much more damaging angles and ways to approach the situation that would of hurt Jay a lot more yet reflected well on him. I don't think Nas was thinking about "hanging a black man on stage infront of white people" I don't think that was the angle, but he should have considered it... but he was younger and in a pressure filled situation looking to do something big to strike back. It was just an error of judgment.

Californ-i-a by way of BK
nikkas is so lost calling Nas a c00n for this idea...

Do people forget that Jay-Z talked about leaving his used condoms on Nas daughter baby seat in "Super Ugly"?

You lost me on how those things correlate? One is depicting a black man's hanging in front of a bunch of crackers, the other is just shyt talking about a real life situation.

I would not fukk with Nas music anymore if he went through with it.
