If Net Neutrality is gutted then it's gonna suck as a internet paying customer

This is what happens when people don't go out to vote :yeshrug:
Or when your representatives are bought by telecom companies. Blue and Red both getting $$$ to support Pai.

The 265 members of Congress who sold you out to ISPs, and how much it cost to buy them

If?...You mean "when."

To be honest, this is what we get for cutting cable. Those cable companies are gonna eat regardless.

This is also what we get for stealing music, games, tv and movies for the last 20 years (with essentially no consequence).

It’s easy to blame the consumer. These same companies have been jerking Americans with monopolies, unfair pricing and terrible customer service.

Streaming services are the problem because physical sales were put on life support. Streaming more convenient. The average American can’t torrent a season of their favorite show. This is to kill new competition and make the consumer use the isp preferred music and video services

Not so fast bruh

Inside Bell's Push To End Net Neutrality In Canada

Bell is trying to fukk shyt up here

And you know anything they do down south they gonna do up here
Yeah it will happen everywhere eventually.

Like I said, people thought they would cancel all cable and paid services and just pirate everything and these companies would take that lying down?

These corporations run the world. It was just a matter of time until the lobbyists found some pawn that will do their bidding for that bag. Wether it be republican or Democrat it was bound to happen.

And the people that think they're justified in stealing everything are the direct cause of this,so people can thank themselves for what's about to happen. Companies are going to do what's best for business, and losing millions of people cutting cable was hurting their pockets. You can argue it was going to happen eventually anyway and that's probably true but this certainly expedited things.

I can see this shyt leading to a tipping point..... eventually possibly violence

Corporations might be biting off too much they can chew here and people might revolt over this shyt if it gets too much

The internet is just too important to billions of people around the world.

Yep. Imagine being a UVerse customer paying for Sling TV or any other competitor to DirectTV Now.

I already know there's gonna be some fukkery with that sector. If they don't force a package premium, they're definitely throttling all of those services to some Dialup speeds.

404 not found or slow your connection down to dialup speeds
When do they reach a decision regarding Net Neutrality? I hope that it’s not taken away. :(

Maybe. But people are so comfortable now. The Roman Empire would be in awe at the Trojan horse of bread and circuses that is currently happening.

The government just pushed through a tax bill that will fukk over the vast majority of the country to give more money to the rich and will add to the deficit which will be paid for by cutting welfare and Medicare. And you'll find more people upset about a game of thrones episode than that :francis:

People didn't start a revolution when they found out the 1% have more money than 99% :francis:

When people started sharing an interview of Russell brand asking if he started a revolution I was :russ: people ain't gonna do shyt but share it,like it and comment and keep going back to getting fukked in the ass by the rich :francis:

It would take either a significant event by a group or an extremely charismatic leader to get people to revolt. People are more likely to riot over a sports game than an injustice.

fukk that bullshyt. You fell for the corporate speak, but that fails to hold up in place of simple logic. If I'm in a minority then there is no reason to charge me as such because I am not causing any issue to the network. "Insane amount of data" is completely relative. There is no bandwidth issue and the ISPs have stated as such during earnings calls.
Besides that, we already pay for speed tiers. If you are going to cap me, don't make me pay extra to get wider bandwidth. Give me the fastest rate ...they are basically fukkin double dipping.

But you are causing an issue to the network and yes there are bandwidth issues, which is why every company that provides data has some sort of cap. Mobile companies will throttle you, ISPs are gonna charge you extra. Would you prefer the ISPs throttle you when you are stressing the network? Paying for speed tiers does not equate to the amount of data being used. This business model isn't a buffet, it ain't all you can eat, and people that treat it as such is gonna be charged extra. 1 TB might be relative, but its a lot of data, and I am not sure how anyone can complain about that being the cap.

Your logic is flawed. Again, there is no bandwidth issue. For example, I have 250Mb service from Comcast. If there was a bandwidth issue, Comcast could simply sell slower service (say 125Mb) instead of 250. Comparing mobile to wired is laughable and proves you haven't an inkling of the real meat of the issue. Mobile providers send you data basically as fast as you can until you hit the throttle limit. Wired has no limitations that mobile has. Paying for speed tiers AND paying per byte is akin to paying for voltage and kilowatt-hours for electricity. Its a fukkin racket to anyone that is actually paying attention.
Also note that this transition has only begun as people began cutting the cord (IE cutting TV profits)

Comcast VP: Caps a
Comcast has quietly acknowledged that the company's slowly expanding usage caps are a "business policy" not driven by the ISP's engineering team. If you'll recall, for years large US ISPs insisted that usage caps were absolutely necessary due to network congestion; as networks improved, and data showed caps weren't really an effective way to manage network load, the cable industry eventually backed away from that claim.

Leaked Comcast Talking Points Admit Caps Not About Congestion
Employees are also informed not to call them data caps, since that has a universally understood and very negative connotation (Comcast has even scolded reporters for use of the term):

quote:

• Do say: "Data usage plan"

• Don't say: "Data Cap" (This is not a cap. We do not limit a customer's use of the Internet it any way at or above 300 GB)

The support script also clearly admits the caps have nothing to do with congestion. For example support reps are told:quote:• Do say: "Fairness and providing a more flexible policy to our customers."

• Don't say: "The program is about congestion management." (It is not.)

Evidence goes on...

I do no internet deal unless it's unlimited. And that's expensive as it is. Rogers used to cap me at 2gb a month. shyt was done in a day. And the package was expensive. Fck Rogers. Now I'm stuck using their sub service Fido because Bell was pulling some shady shyt too charging me for shyt I didn't even sign off for.

I'm in here reading 1TB isn't enough and shyt is just blowing my mind.

Like someone said, this shyt may lead to violence, unfortunately. People play too damn much with these services.

I don't know why posters are surprised that 1tb is not enough. Some X1 games have 100gb updates for the X1X. Just downloading the update for Gears 4 was 105gb :damn:

That's 1/10th of my monthly limit...off one game!

I have a 4K TV too, so I want to stream 4K content (netflix, amazon, youtube). That takes a ton of bandwidth.

1tb isn't enough :manny:
