The Wrong Side of the Tracks
My only issue with him is he's......predictable. Like, I already know what words he's going to use to end rhymes before he spits them.

I attribute that to his age, but dude has potential to be big.

Just needs that ONE dope track to get more people feeling him flow, then follow-up with some consistent bangers.

joey is like rap's lounge singer. he's playing all the hits for us but will always be wallpaper music. he's a reference point, not an innovator

he doesn't deserve that type of backing or the pressure of having to put the NY on his back.
i like him and i think if he took his time he could put out a great project but he's not the one..just stay away from Statik.

i always hoped people got more behind Kid Daytona but hes not really made any kinda splash..been a fan since he put out that EP with the songs all sampled from Nautilus.. he got a little attention off his first Interlude mixtape it never amounted to anything.. not even Smoke Dza level.

he's more marketable to these labels, got the slick talk and doesn't sound out of place with any of the old school mc's, the mixtape freestyle generation of the early 00's and the new one when on songs with them and worked with a varied amount of production.

As a NY, i do agree to an extent that we "too cool" for that shyt. However, we also don't support music because no one has "their"' own sound. Then again who truly does..

Plenty of underground NY artist are influenced by the south (beat wise) because that's what creates bangers

No one want's a "hood anthem" anymore..aka vado style tracks etc. Those are not marketable other than here..and some spots.

Personally, i support local acts.

If you want NY bangers you really won't find em here.. everyone just takes from each other. I mean that by every coast

Because NY is not really looking for a comeback. You internet/social media fans are. It's not about regions or coast. Hip Hop is strictly music industry ran now. When will y'all understand that? It's about money, not coastal competition. These rappers aren't even running ish now.

you know what, you're actually right..but..when it came down to it. His sales was kinda weak. He's up to 94k to date...all this with a many beats NOT influenced by NY besides (shot caller, which can be argued)

I wish more NY supported their artist ...i think many are OVER rap. Period

I just want an authentic ny rap...

From the flamboyant intellectual like AZ

To the flamboyant bugged out hood reporter like Killa

All the way to the timbs-n-hoody struggle life like M.O.P.

I have no issues with southern music....

But where is the intellectual representation that reflects the southern mc??

Where are the raps that reflect the darkside of the trap???

I just want regional balance...

And sub-genres that reflect that

See but this is the problem, where are the trend setters? why do we always have to reminisce of the "old days" and try to recreate them.
none of the 90's rappers did "80's" themed music.

dark south ..would be tech-9, 3 6 , spaceghostpurrp, brothalynch hung.

I would say that NOW hip hop is the most regional ever. You have all coasts on the radio and being celebrated

It's old school heads and white fans demanding that boom bap sound, not NY

true...the east coast sample hard drum rap game is dead to the radio unless you are Jay-Z or Nas...I love that shyt so I still support artists who have that sound...but I'm an old head :manny: youngins want the trap shyt...its all good...they just need to just stop supporting wack nggz who can't rap and hide behind majors, fashion, gimmicks, and down south beats.

French Montana rapping like he from the south doesn't qualify....

There is no trace of new York in his radio friendly stuff
