If OKC wins the title, is it the hardest path to a 'ship in NBA History?

No, I don't think I missed the point I was responding to, because you repeated it over and over

Sure, factor in playoff record. Let's say that OKC ends up beating the Spurs, Warriors, and Cavs, and those teams go a combined 24-4 in the playoffs before playing the Thunder, which is certainly possible. That would almost certainly be the best opponent playoff record ever by a championship team.

Sorry, but there's just no way for the Spurs and Warriors to make the Finals IF OKC BEATS THEM.

Spurs had a great playoff record - they were undefeated and had won their games by an average of 22 points/game until OKC beat them.

Warriors had a great playoff record - they were 8-2, and undefeated with Curry on the floor, until OKC beat them.

And the Cavs will be 12-2 or 12-3 in they make the Finals.

So sure, factor in playoff record. It doesn't do what you think it does.

To complain that, "OKC can't have had a great Finals run because the teams they beat before the Finals didn't make it to the Finals" is moronic.

I'm done with you - at this point you have to be trolling.
bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

those are points YOU are making

the OP didn't make any of those points... at all....

he was going purely of reg season record... i was making the point that reg season record does not make you an all time team... the all time teams won rings IN ADDITION to those good reg. season records

so no... i don't count teams who can't even make it to the finals as ALL TIME TEAMS.. you not even an all season team.. how the hell you an all time team

okc is kicking ass.... okc is great... okc isn't some shytty team....

but are they having the hardest path ever in history?? no... they ain't beating no damn dynasties or even all time time great teams.. this warriors team isn't an all time great to me... wasn't an all time great to me during the season... the level of comp from the rest of the teams was so damn low, so they won... they not out here beating prime jordan, magic, hakeem, shaq, kobe, wilt, kareem.... duncan is the only one i'd name wth them, and he's fukking 150 years old

face up against some legends first, in their prime, and we can talk... if they beat prime curry that'll be ONE... we can debate if this lebron is prime or not.... but i'll give them two

mavs was out here beating PRIME kobe, lebron, wade and bosh... and they still wouldn't even be my top pick

STOP BASING IT OFF REG SEASON WINS was and is my point... i can't say it no different

On the one hand...yes...the warriors were a historic team all year and the spurs had an historic defense...

On the other hand...OKC frontcourt perfectly matches up with the Spurs and with GS in that both these teams put small nonathletic big men in the game making it easy for Adams Kanter and 5678 to crash the boards...

So it's hard to say since OKC has an advantage over both of these teams they can exploit, and that advantage comes down to personnel not skill level...

You can apply that logic to all teams that are in the discussion for having the "hardest path" - they all had a match up advantage they exploited that allowed them to win too.

edit: I get it now

No what I'm saying is, dude based his point solely on record. And didn't make a single point about the makeup of the team

If you're going to base it solely on record, then playoff record needs to be factored in. Saying they are 73-9 in the reg season. And so that makes it the greatest run ever....

Well how great are they really when they couldn't even get to the finals. Evidently that reg season record didn't mean shyt

I just wanted him to make his points about players and team makeup like others are doing. Not simply saying, their record means they are the best team ever in history. Nah. They aren't

alright that's a reasonable point.

If I counted right, Westbrook's Thunder were 12-8 against the ECF last year in games that Durant didn't play in.

They won some good games, but they also got blown out by the Pacers without PG even playing much, lost to the Pistons, lost to New York, lost to Brooklyn twice with one of the by 30+....

Going to the East isn't an instant conference finals by any means unless he joins an already-good team. Otherwise, Cleveland, Miami, Toronto if they keep their team intact, Washington with a big pickup, or even a retooled Bulls/Pacers team could knock off a lower-tier Westbrook-led team.

That's making my point, they join one of these teams and they instantly get a ticket to the Conference Finals at least. Imagine Durant on the Hawks? Magic? Healthy Wizards? Etc

I'm not impressed by the idea of Durant on the Magic. And the Hawks would only get him by giving up Horford, so I don't really see that as a situation he's salivating over. Pointing out that a Conference semifinals team gets elevated to the conference finals with Durant isn't an amazing sell.

Durant's arguably the best player in the league. I pointed out that there's 5-6 teams in the East with a shot at the conference finals even without Durant, and you pointed out that those teams would be favorites to reach the ECF if they got Durant. Well, that's not much of a point.

There are at least 4 teams in the West who would be favorites to reach the ECF with Durant next year as well.

That's my point. :snoop:
The east is so up for grabs that Durant going ton an Eastern Conference team makes them a favorite.

Magic:
Elfrid Payton
Oladipo
Durant
Ilyasova
Vucevic

Detroit:
Reggie Jackson
Stanley Johnson
Kevin Durant
Tobias Harris
Andre Drummond
