According to fairy tales and the history of Pinocchio, if he says a lie his nose instantly grows.

So what would happen if he states that his nose will grow RIGHT NOW?

Context. What preceeded him saying it? Also, does his lies cause the same effect if he truly believes them to be true?
Pinocchio was gullible. Someone might have said something to make him believe his nose would grow.

If we are just looking at him saying it just because, probably not, cause it seems more like a statement than a lie to someone.

I'd say it would grow, technically he still told a lie by saying it would go right then at that moment. It would have to grow instantly to make it not a lie right?


I guess it depends on how long the buffer time is to make something a lie

It doesn't have to be a lie to someone in order to be a lie...
He could be saying it just because and it is still a problem. If it does not grow than it starts being a lie hence it will grow.
