i just was thinkin' bout this after watchin' his new vladtv interview
red's 1st 4 albums are all a combination of classic, brilliant, really great and real good
but a lot of times i don't see his name bought up when nikkas talk about their top 10 mcs
how come?
he got classic albums, he got classic songs and a 1 of the best catalogs in hip hop
what stops him from bein' in your top 10 if he ain't in it? :jbhmm:

He's in my top 10 but I could understand why he's not in other people's because he has no real content. Majority of his music is just rapping about smoking weed, bytches, and petty crimes while putting them in clever metaphors. and while most rappers have somewhat similar content, the best ones actually do it with a message/meaning or storytelling.


Some people who are big into content might not put him there.

yeah, you and @SunZoo are right on the money with the lack of content. i agree
it's just he does what he does so well that i think i over look it because that's really his only flaw as an mc to me
but again, red is like a comedian who just so happens to rap, lol

am i the only 1 who feels like doc's da name was a great album?
i think we can all agree on his 1st 3 albums bein' classics or personal classics but i also feel like people now slept on doc's da name
which is ironic, because doc's da name actually went platinum. his only album to do so too

i feel like he really didn't fall off until malpractice. that was the end of what had been a great career
because before that album all his albums had been great on different levels IMO
but malpractice is where he fell off to me

Redman is dope, I just feel there are better artists than him overall. And like someone said, can be a bit 1 dimensional at times, can lack substance. His lane is party/fun/flavour type rapper though, so have no issue with what he does but on a list that kind of thing would work against him. He's great, just others that are probably greater...

I actually forgot and haven't done it in a couple weeks:mjlol:

We still had a couple rounds left but the top 10 was solidified. Redman is in my personal top 3 tho
