Even if Trump doesn't formally get charged, it taints him as fundamentally corrupt, pretty much bars him from running for office and sets precedent keeping future politicians from influencing the political process to this egregious a level.

And it wasn't just Trump inciting a riot and doing nothing for 3 hours to stop it. He tried to use different government agencies, and pressure the Vice President to overturn the election. One thing that was discussed in the hearings that should be a much bigger focus is the fake elector scheme. They had fake papers they were going to use to change the results of the election in swing states when it came time to submit the paperwork. US Senators/House members were in on it. That would fall under the charge of Conspiracy to Defraud the United States.
