Literally your first example wasn't quick and wasn't even a full transition seeing that Yahoo still exists and Google was launched in the late 90s.

It doesn't matter that Yahoo is still around. The point is that it is no longer the leading search engine because something dethroned it. If Yahoo disappeared, the Internet would not feel it.

And that transition did happen quickly.

These aren't quick transitions, this is literally the evolution of social media/electronics and every single one of these had a slow upheaval.

But people would demand a new replacement and there is already a ton of apps in the cut waiting to replace Twitter right now. They just don't have the popularity.
