It's a different sentence with a different meaning
yeah, theres no real competitor. citizenapp is local, public and provides real-time info but not in the same way or detailed volume that twitter does.
i think there was a thread on thecoli a few years ago about a killing by 3 people that a chick on twitter broke down and the fox news angle on the story was about an undocumented immigrant killing a guy. from what i can vaguely recall this chick set up her boyfriend or maybe it was someone else to be killed by two other dudes. sometimes you get the real story on social media.
didn't some anonymous chick basically solve the young dolph murder on Instagram and it was reposted to twitter minute by minute before the police knew anything?

Yep. These social media platforms encourage people to be the first to break news so they don’t verify anything until AFTER they post it.

So far what I'm seeing is that I'm not wrong, is just yall don't care about a well established platform going under because eventually we'll get a new one.

Eh it's hysteria. I work in marketing and use a lot of twitter.
I doubt it will go under, this is the first time twitter has ever been profitable and thats by cutting the workforce.
What you are going to see is advertisers who have an audience that appeals "liberal" or "left-leaning" removing their ad dollars until brand safety is established or they feel comfortable. No big brand (and i've already pulled millions out of twitter) is goind to risk a social platform who fired it's brand safety team and/or allow users to create profiles that look like brands and appear verified and post whatever.
I think we saw that play out recently were a fake tweet sent stocks plummeting for a company in like an hr.
I think the main concern will be, what will twitter look like if they no longer have to appeal to the "left". Might be a white washing of twitter since culturually POC lean more left. So there may be a mass exodus on the user side but I'm not sure users who get some financial benefit from sharing content/info quickly, answering fans, etc will step away.
And you believe Elon and the people over there will allow that? You think things like Ferguson will trend over there?Plus we aren’t completely in the dark anyway. There are other platforms and new ones will come.
People will just post text on IG and Tiktok.
