3 of the last 5 threads you contributed to excluding this thread begin with posts from twitter.

you benefit from it even when you think you aren't aware of it.
I'm sure i'll be alright without it. I knew about xbox and ps games before the advent of twitter,
Threads about pawg wish fulfillment wouldn't be missed

Black Self-Sufficiency
This is a click baity title but holds up as mostly truth as Twitter is the number one platform that provides consumers instant information. As soon as something is tweeted you can see it.

No one can control the speed of this information machine. They can try and regulate it but they can't stop it (Great examples being Myanmar military coup, Hong Kong protests, terrorist factions posting propaganda or telling on themselves, ect).

To those who are excited that Elon is taking over so that it can be destroyed all because you hate that you can't fat shame without flak, tighten up.
:ufdup:Think about what's really going to go away if Twitter goes under. I can only hope Elon's dumbass does make it faster for non-western users (if that is even a legitimate problem he claims).

And when Twitter goes away what instant feed is as legit? Facebook? Instagram? Laughable. This forum is always the last to know about anything. Once twitter goes away you'll have to rely on FB or Instagram live at best to get a thread started. That's all.
Are you really worried about this, or worried that an avenue for LGBTQ+ to express themselves may no longer be available? I've noticed that Twitter was a major avenue for many to shyt on straight brothers. With Elon at the helm, it has just doubled down on it. So I personally am not worried about it going down in flames, because with two sides ready to shyt on Black men, it no longer has a net-utility for me.

Half the shyt that's going on in NYC, especially in my neighborhood, I would not know about without Twitter because these aren't things that are readily disseminated like that to the public unless you look for it

no place else on the web like it for hyper-localized news, announcements and content.

i would put the % of human beings in the US that actually USE twitter at like 3% at best. let alone the rest of the world. i dont know anyone that actually uses twitter outside of links on forums like thecoli

id argue IG gets way more use than twitter in every aspect.
Facts.

The useful thing about Twitter was simply the journalists breaking news fast. Otherwise its mass of attention starved idiots are not good representation of average people.

IG has the most regular people/women in a contemporary sense.

Facebook has old ppl and the Walmart demographic but digitally.

Twitter tho was always for a special brand of weirdo. The app lost all its regular people to IG/Snap/Clubhouse years ago imo. The average Twatter are tumblr rejects, people too obsessed with politics and various narcissts

It isn't my first stop news source but it does produce different angles on current events.
dumbass, unverified, over-simplified, opinion loaded angles that take a story in every direction before sanity takes over if at all

but for real - you can set up your phone with apps for everything from local news alerts, market watches, policy changes, etc from legit sources.

acting like this was the only way that emergency alerts came out.... people managed to get notified just fine before twitter and will do just fine after. if anything, waiting for something to trend before taking it seriously was becoming a growing issue.
