I just think that the luchador/high flying style is in more than ever before. It used to be a niche type of thing.

You got dudes doing spectacular high flying moves that you wouldn't have seen on a random raw episode 15-20 years ago. Maybe a shooting star press or a 450 splash at best and even then it wasn't on the regular.

Legit big men/powerhouse type of wrestlers are kind of lost commodity in the wwe tho.

One factor is that a lot of the new guys coming up now in this generation became pro wrestlers because it was their dream and were superfans before they decided to do it themselves. Wrestling superfans tend to follow indys and respect the more technical aspects of the sport so these guys coming in now grew up dreaming of hitting moonsaults and Burning Hammers. Whereas in the past promoters would just walk into gyms and bodybuilding feds and grab some big meat heads to try to turn into wrestlers.
