If it's a true P4P list like boxing guys like Rey, HBK, Bret & Flair would be up there ... They beat a bunch of guys bigger than them: Heavyweights, Superheavyweights etc.

Even tho they were Heavyweight Champ, they never were billed as Heavyweights.

Cena's gotta be out of the discussion forever now.

Don't recall Hogan or any of the top guys of their era getting penetrated in the ass by another man in the middle of the ring.

Yea Brock definitely just shot his way up the chart since beating Taker. He's reached a new prime in his career.

Gotta put him on the GOAT tier now.

But if he loses to Reigns... :ufdup:then he's a fakkit and he goes back down on the list.

Wrestling is a lot different now than it was in the 80s and 90s. The booker has a different mindset in that he thinks wins and losses don't really matter in this era because everyone knows its scripted now

i disagree breaux...wins and losses matter because it shows who is a big deal and who is not a big deal. Instead of showing who is stronger and weaker it shows "who should I care about and who should I not care about"

for weeks they said "care about miz...he's ic champ and on tv all the time" he loses to ziggler and the narrative immediately changes to "i should care about ziggler...he's a bigger deal than miz"

Cesaro loses for a while, suddenly he's not a big deal...

Wins and losses tell the story of whos important more than even tv time; heath slater is on tv EVERY RAW but he's NBD because he jobs...meanwhile the USOS are too, and they win; they're a bigger deal.

this spun off the brock/cena finish thread...

if he beats cena for the strap, brock will have high profile wins over:

  • hogan
  • hhh
  • undertaker
  • cena
  • rock
who are like...kayfabe gods. he will have made everyone bow down. and be champ, and not even care about the sport.

is there anyone who could be considered the kayfabe P4P GOAT over him?

Warrior.

Nobody beats Warrior

Yep...Now it dont matter if you take an L...Back in the 80s esp you almost knew who would take Ls and who wouldnt it,it mattered more to the booker a guys record in terms of fan respect and appreciation...As you said that has to do with that fact people didnt view it as scripted back then,i would say by mid 90s that changed...
