I know where this thread is going , and quite frankly most of you don't know/realize HBCU's are more expensive than "white" schools.

Only applied to 2 schools FSU and FAMU. FAMU was my 1st choice. I got my acceptance letter from FSU, financial Aid, and my apartment set and hadn't heard back from FAMU. the week before I'm set to leave for Tally, the Dean of the Business School calls my house and asks if I'm still coming I'm like, I never even received an acceptance letter from yall. I had everything already set with FSU so But I did want to go to Famu at 1st

Nope. Every last one in my state either don't have serious engineering programs or they're just status

HBCUs need to get their shyt together all the way around., tho The amount of money all of these schools want VS What they offer in return in laughable. Even with scholarship and grant money I still would've had to come out of my own pockets to pay my way

Went to PVAMU and earned a degree in Biology. Loved it when i was there, although i left early for grad school

For me, it was strictly about location and family. I wasn't ready to leave the nest egg like that. I went to the PWI closest to me. Used to get picked up on thursday nights, come home and sleep in my own bed and shyt, be back for monday classes....

No because Hampton was a private school and didnt have none the programs i wanted at that time. Plus, it wss founded by a wm so whst made it different from a white school with a large black student body?
