Sometimes our meal was just rice, with sugar in it. No butter because we didn't have any.

I still make that shyt to this day


I used to sneak extra sugar into the rice when moms wasn't looking


A few times a year we would get a plain brown box filled with bags of generic cereal with no label, but it was knockoffs of sweet cereals like Crunch Berries or Fruity pebbles.

That was the only time we would get cereal that was already sweet flavored, and it felt like Christmas

If memory serves me correct, all those non label foods were from the U.S stockpile in case of nuclear fall out during the cold war. once the cold war ended, they had a huge pile that they just flooded the poor with.

I wonder if we still have a food pile in case of any type of war or civil unrest. I hope so. with this coronavirus, and borders closing who knows how the rations will look. U.S govt might have to step in and pass out some king vitamin.

My girl and I were just having this same conversation about the struggle meals we grew up with. We both agreed that this shyt right here is the nastiest shyt of all-time. These little abominations were even worse than Spam.

If you pan fried them they were noice!!!! Growing up in a "third world country" it was like Christmas when someone sent these from the States. One man's trash I guess.

Surprised this hasn't been posted. This shyt used to come in the same shaped can, but it had a key you had to use to open it by threading a strip of the can through the key's eye.

Used to get clowned daily for having Spam n' Cheese sandwiches when I hit 3rd Grade as there were no 'free/reduced lunch' programs where I was in the 70's until you hit 6th Grade.
