Especially since the new 6-7 speed autos give you the same performance as a stick in most cases.

Upping a decade old thread, but I just learned how to drive manual the other day.

Was stalling like crazy from standing starts in the beginning, but once you find the bite point consistently it gets pretty easy. I've been wanting to learn so I can buy a classic VW.

I've only had the opportunity to try it once about 16 years ago, and I was bad at it. now I don't even have access to a car with a stick as they are increasingly rare in 2023.
