If you can't drive a stick shift you might as well commit that

If you don't but want to learn, learning to drive a straight drive is a very fun experience. granted you dont burn any clutched up or grind too many gears

Sports cars/compacts, yea stick is better.

Anything else

Especially since the new 6-7 speed autos give you the same performance as a stick in most cases.

Only muscle/sports cars need shifters

I would love how to learn, but at the same time I live in a city and imo shifters are pointless

Upping a decade old thread, but I just learned how to drive manual the other day. :wow:

Was stalling like crazy from standing starts in the beginning, but once you find the bite point consistently it gets pretty easy. I've been wanting to learn so I can buy a classic VW.

even though they're going extinct it's stick for life for me, idc if i have to drive old whips forever
