If you could change just ONE thing about the average black owned business what would it be?

Better customer service, better communication and make time management a top priority vs a nice to have.

Too many black business cancel at the last minute or just have low availability in the first place. They seem to let their personal life affect the business too often. Like stop charging premium prices for average product and poor service.

As a tax preparer I wish they would take their accounting seriously and stop coming to me without having a clue what type of business they have or how much money they spent

Gonna get hate, but appreciate the business more and not see your skin color as an entitlement to my business. I always try to keep the business to where the money might stay in the community. I'm not talking buying a burger. I'm talking accountants, experts, etc...

When I engage our folks, they always charge me at least double what the market is. So the conversation starts with some hustle shyt. I usually do business on that first occasion just to say I supported, but never again. Businesses have to think long term.

I don't run into this much

Stop calling them black owned businesses. It’s like naming your business after yourself, you’re just painting a target on your back. I can’t tell you how many nikkas would come to my family’s business when I was a teen, expecting a “hook up” like we weren’t there to make money. That or hating or trying to extort.

The thing I dislike is that our Black Businesses lack funding, I wish they had more of that.

They have the "minority" business grants/loans, but the loans primarily go to Asians, Latinos, Middle Easters and every other Non-Black American.

It's funny to see these Pro-Black users taking time out to shyt on Black owned businesses:francis:

wheres the proof of this?

its not that i dont believe you, but nikkas have a bad habit of stating things as institutional barriers without actually discussing the details of said barriers. Understanding the details informs how we get it to work in our favor or maneuver around it all together.

BIPOC receive less business financing, less often and at higher rates

According to data released by the Federal Reserve in 2020, the percentage of white business owners that receive at least a percentage of the funding they requested from a bank is 80.2%. In contrast, only 60.9% of Black business owners say the same, along with 69.5% for Hispanic business owners and 77.1% for Asian business owners.

The gap was even wider when it came to whether a business owner received the full amount of financing they requested from banks. Just over 54% of white business owners received the full amount sought, compared to 33.8% for Asian business owners, 32.1% for Hispanic business owners and 26.0% for Black business owners.

The prices mfs go into business and just immediately start with some high ass prices for no reason then try to guilt you into shopping because you're black. I remember i went to this one spot in the mall. It was some fake African mfs, they had this all natural deodorant and i took the cap off to smell it and the bytch got mad at me talking about "DO YOU GO TO THE WHITE MANS STORE AND TAKE THE CAP OFF TO SMELL THE DEODORANT ??" And I said "as a matter of fact I do because Target and Walmart dont give a fukk you dumb bytch" then walked smooth out the store. Then every time after that every time i walked past the store in the mall and flip them off and would loudly say DONT BUY shyt FROM THESE FAKE AS AFRICAN MFS. Store only lasted about 6 months.

Koalabama and the Cosmos
  • Have more than just health products (I want a black owned video game spot, or a black cinema spot)
  • The arrogance (I get it but if the experience is shyt, don't throw that :mjpls: at me when yall need to do better especially with ya kinfolk)
  • Doubling down on quality because "we all we got" (if anything, we need each other and should bet on black. Don't serve the cacs fresh fish and black folks left over cat fish soaked in grease because "we should understand" fukk that...do better)
  • Don't eat where you shyt (keep the family away from the profits, that's how most business crash and burn because of jealously and confusion)
  • Keep the inner circle intact (if its a small family business, let it be just that...solo dolo same thing....a few friends keep that circle wholesome)
Bottom line, have the Black Wall Street energy for the modern time. Have the mentality of the Jews, Latino communities, and Asians and watch the money pile up :whew:

This x 100. I live in the DMV area specifically PG County. I hate going to black owned spots and the menu is exactly the same. I really respect the black chefs that push the limit on what they offer to their customers. I don't always want soul food so I appreciate when black establishments offer something outside of thing. Tobias Dorzon has www.hunchohouse.com and his new spot 1123 https://www.instagram.com/1123_bycheftobias/ by ). I also love Polished Steakhouse | 1799 Prime Steak & Seafood - Alexandria, VA which is just a straight up classic American steak house that is black owned. The soul food thing is tired.
This is dope! I don't think I have ever come across a black owned steakhouse in Atlanta.

Stop overcharging.

Let the products and services you’re selling speak for themselves.

A lot of times it’s cut corners on quality and a whole bunch of talking to push the price up. Tired of the grifting.
