A Mystery show were African, African American, Afro Latin and Caribbean legends and folklore escape from a book and a group of kids would have to hunt them down and tracked them with the help of Anansi the spider. They would need to trick the legends are get them to agree to return to the book.
Most of all I would like to push for detectives, scientists, amazon warriors, politicians, royalty, space adventurers, vampires, monster hunters and things of that nature. A variety of different types of roles that showcase the diversity in our interests.
A show that feels like a throw back to Goosebumps and Eerie Indiana for the kids would be cool too.
Sometimes I think about creating a fantasy series about how black people save the world from destruction as a metaphorical narrative where society has to pay its debts to black people in the aftermath at the end of it.
I'd probably do something along the lines of Anthony Bourdain, or Andrew Zimmern, Travel Channel like. For whatever reason I'd prefer a Black UK personality to be the host, and have him explore food and culture throughout various Black communities throughout the States. Could even branch out and explore communities in the UK, or South America, West Indies, etc.. If not a Black UK personality, Cam'ron or Joe Budden would be on the short and immediate list.
I'd like to do a TV docuseries about the history of electronic music and music from black artists, from Disco, to Detroit Techno, to Jersey Club, Juke, and even world music like Kuduro, Soca and Baile Funk.
Like it starts with teh delta blues, to rock and roll..to northern soul, to the creation of club culture in North America in the 70s.
A young black woman is murdered in her own neighborhood. An investigator/detective is on the case, putting clues together, asking neighbors and classmates questions about the girl to figure out who could have possibly killed her. His investigation is going nowhere fast until he begins to understand that her death had a supernatural aspect to it. Or at least that's what it seems like. He(or she) doesn't want to believe that because his job relies on logic and facts so he ignores most of the supernatural signs and warnings. That is until he starts having weird dreams and blackouts that transport him back to a time when the girl was still alive. Could she possibly be trying to help the investigator/detective solve her own murder?
The series would be full of twists and turns, be mostly grounded except when it's not. A mix of Columbo, Twin Peaks and the investigative portions of The Wire. Think of it like if you followed Bunk, Mcnulty or Lester into a different city where strange things are happening and they're trying their best to hold it all together.
I'm also interested in an all black noir show, space drama or a general mix of something science fiction, horror and/or mystery. A cartoon version of these would be cool too.
Reminds me of a movie idea I had. I forget what I called it but after the death of his wife a detective takes on one last murder case before retiring. In different sequences he sees moments of the young woman who was murdered living out the last days of her life. When he sees himself crossing paths with her he starts to feel as though instead of being guided he's being haunted. At first he has to come to terms with dealing with a supernatural being trying to walk him step by step to solve her case. As the detective gets closer to figuring things out it also becomes clear that he was never being haunted or dealing with the super natural. His guilty sub-conscience has manifested into his mind forcing him to see visions of the dead girl. The detective had a split murderous personality and has killed a handful of women, including his own wife. Coming to this realization he is in shock and contemplates turning himself in. Through a string of coincidence and with the help of comrades that want to see the detective have a successful retirement, the murder is blamed on a very obvious suspect, but not actually guilty. With a low life thug now the scapegoat to the detective's latest crime, he decides to retire scot free.

Before Kashif passed he was creating a History of R&B mini series documentary. It looked like it would be piff. Hopefully it has enough material to still be release.
He's a orphan due to a car accident resulting in him losing his mother and a plane crash resulting in him losing his father both at a young age within the span of 2 months. Both instances he was the sole survivor.
The social media and news outlets label him an, "unlucky miracle child" due to events that transpired and exploit him before moving on to the next big thing.
Fast-forward; Our protagonist is around 17 bouncing from foster homes and homeless shelters doing odd jobs for money. He lives dangerously even by accident having close calls with death. With that being said he questions the the aspect of life and death. He feels as if he's died in both instances with his parents but not on an emotional level, he feels as if he actually he died. This gives him nightmares and gets diagnosed as survivor guilt and ptsd and one of the reasons he was never adopted.
One night on the way to the a shelter after doing a job clearing a foreclosed apartment he's mugged and the struggle results in him being shot in the head.
He wakes up hours later in a shed where a Lawrence fishbourne looking nikka informs him that he's been "killed".
Our protagonist doesn't understand but the lawrence fishbourne looking nikka calmly tells him that he's immortal.
Long story short: It'd be a TV show about a society of immortal beings.
There'd be different types of immortality. For example:
Someone like 2Pac would be immortal in sense of his music.
Ali for his boxing.
etc.
Where in extreme cases, some wouldn't age, can regenerate, has several lives, need to eat/kill others to live etc.
The main antagonist would be some evil ass person who lives on in others kind of like a possession so even if you kill him he'd just go to another body.
I dunno who i'd cast but Lawrence Fishbourne, micheal b jordan, forest whitiker, and Donald Glover would be in it.
Probably put a young Taraji P. Henson and tatyana ali in it

3. hyper intelligent political drama focusing on a single mans rise from a local city council person to chief of staff to the president. (i've thought this one out but don't wanna give out more details)
