If you could redo college, what major or career path would you choose instead?

I got multiple military friends and they’re killing it. Got that monthly payment after leaving the army and my cousin is a firefighter. Unlimited OT. 4 days on and 4 days off.

Wish I could talk to my younger self now. Military has so many benefits after coming out of it. Would’ve went marines. Your friends are smart :salute:

Definitely would’ve minored or double majored in economics. All of my friends I’m still cool with who did it are making beaucoup bucks as lobbyists or analysts/strategist at think tanks. I chose to be a lowly civil servant. I would’ve skipped getting my MA in PoliSci and gotten my MPA focusing on housing policy and urban/regional planning. Met some really cool brothas when I went to school for it who were doing a wide range of things from transportation and housing equity and accessibility projects to redesigning entire neighborhoods. Field could use more Black folks

Cybersecurity definitely, with Fine Arts (Illustration) as a minor [or maybe get my associate's in Fine Arts]. Then maybe an MBA if I was really feeling myself. Especially if I knew I had ADHD then.

I ended up in IT anyways but I could have made a lot more money much sooner. And you definitely don't need a degree to work in comics. :russ:

After moving around in a couple fields, I feel same way. Should of just started in medical field and go from there. I think it checks all the boxes I look for,

  • Get paid
  • Can easily move up if I put in work (If I want to go from RN to NP, just put in work while still getting paid and not have to worry about no boss or hater block me from moving up or have to wait for someone to retire and getting PAID more)
  • MANYYYY options and opportunities to work more, less, make more, side hustle in field, per diem, etc.
  • Flexibility in schedule (allow me to flip and build on my schedule which was always in my toolbelt), can work 3 and 4 schedule, 4 tens, take multiple weeks off, can work fulltime AND per diem, etc.
  • Travel and move around
  • VERY social job (Iykyk)
  • Good benefits
  • Muthafukka cant BS your family when someone eventually gets sick
Might be the goat field :wow:

I know two family doctors and I know an anesthesiologist. Dope ass career field.

They really be out here saving lives 😭
