If you did undergrad over again

I agree with all this! I lucked out and got a job in financial services so that was a blessing. How much are you making with the web design company if you don't mind me asking breh?

I sent a PM with more detail, but honestly, not that much in comparison to a lot of other companies that do the same thing in other parts of NC. The market I'm in is mostly a town that's dominated by 2 colleges and a bunch of people in the service industry. It's a beach city. But if I did my exact job in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, Charlotte, or in a major city out of NC, I could probably make 10-15k more per year without anymore responsibilities than what I do right now.

It's just considered a cost of doing business when you get to live at the beach. We deal with a lot of small businesses, and there just aren't as many here, eve though we do have some out of city/state clients. But I think the skills that I have, networking, etc, will make my next job definitely a lot better in terms of the salary. Right now I also make a good chunk of money on commission, and I make like $10-$11 an hour without it, so that part is really crucial. Top of every year is always pretty good, because people make resolutions to improve their websites, get new websites, work on marketing their website on Google more, etc. This January has been okay so far.

I wish I trusted myself more and did more in terms of work studies and internships. That low self esteem fukked me over because I was the first person in my fam to go to college and I had no one to talk to about what to expect at college besides my teachers.

I was smart as shyt but I doubted myself because I was brainwashed at the time by my dad who would call me stupid, useless and dumb all the time. Then my mom was supportive and it started the initial cracks of me genuinely believing I could do well. Once I realized my dad was full of shyt, I pretty much took off.

I was inside the career center, I stayed up late studying, tutoring center and I had my roommate who was pretty much like a mentor and it helped me get through school and make things less complicated. Also some professors threw me a few bones so I wasn't completely lost.


If I did it over again, I would probably do the same thing but be a little smarter in terms of efficiency, act more aggressively towards doing well and take on some internships/jobs related to my major. I met a lot of cool people, made great friends and had some amazing people who helped me along. I would definitely get a part time job or something because my money was tight too.

Anybody up here that is acting like they can't get into a new field with an existing college degree is tripping........there are 70 year olds getting master degrees .....ain't nobody on this board 60 years old ....so you have plenty of time to make adjustments/diversify your skill sets if you so choose ......

Just finished my undergrad in EE. I wouldn't change my major but I would change how social I was. Spent alot of time in labs and didn't take advantage of the scenery.
