I brought up Covid and dead black fathers because it’s a prevalent enough in our community that the discourse on single mothers cannot and should not be framed by generalizations and stereotypes. There are many single mothers out here who are not dealing with baby daddy drama because the father is dead, so the discourse has to change because it’s never includes these types of single mothers but yet these women are judged the same way a woman with multiple baby daddies is. I can do a simple search on the topic of single mothers on here and it would produce dozens of threads with stereotypes that don’t fit many black single mothers.

While I do agree that a widow is different than most single mothers and in some cases that applies to some divorcees, I don't think there are enough cases of that for the excuse of "the original father being an issue" being seen as a bullshyt excuse. There are many other reasons on top of the issue of the original father issue for some guys to be wary.

The older you get the less of an issue this is especially if you ain’t that nikka. It’s a numbers game if you hitting 35+ you’re pool of available women will be more likely to have kids than when you were 20. You can date younger but if you’re broke and/or that probably won’t work. Women without kids in that age group probably more of a headache than ones with tbh
