My parents did not make me say that; they said that was slave talk. When I was in my first year college at my HBCU; I was talking to my teacher and she said where are you from, I said California. She was like "I can tell," I was like Okay, she said "I can tell because you don't say Yes Ma'ma and No Ma'ma. I said my parents did not raise me like that because they said that's slave talk. She was lowkey mad; after I said that lol, because it's the truth.

She did not say anything after that; she gave me a C after the semester was over lol.
