Alot of Black America's problems are self inflicted. You mean to tell me I have to feel sorry for a fukking clown that has every opportunity to not commit crime and do something positive but still will fight and be nikkarish . Crime is related to level of economic prosperity. American Blacks literally have been placed in one of the worst possible circumstances of any ethnic group in the world, brought to a new world with no history of economic wealth (Jews in Europe had a history of economic wealth), enslaved, then after being freed (and after desegregation) being told that most of their problems come from being lazy. Not to mention the psychological effects of the house nikka/field nikka theme and the light-skinned/dark skinned seperation that was instilled by the slave masters, I honestly don't think there is any modern group that can be compared to African-Americans just because of their history in this country. It's sad really. I sincerely believe if you exposed any ethnic group to the same circumstances of American blacks you would get the same results

Many Blacks, men in particular, face barriers to employment and other factors that often limit financial security, but I see what you mean by this. Our culture has been shaped into this over the past several decades, but I personally know brothas and sistas who continue to perpetuate the same backwards shyt despite having family members and friends doing the opposite.

Struggle can happen anywhere. Sometimes I think people even exaggerate how hard it is to live in the hood. Lot of people who live in what are always called rough areas say that they get through fine because they A. Do not run their mouths B.Are not afraid.

At its surface, this is easy to posit. However, when considering the system that created and perpetuates what we find in the hood ( lack of opportunity, poor education system, unsafe living conditions, etc.). You may ask "well, how does a system perpetuate those conditions?" My answer is this.... It is complicated and complex.

@MAKAVELI25 said it perfectly. Generational Wealth and connections lead to opportunity. When an kids are not being adequately prepared for success, it is more likely they will not find it. Having few examples in the community providing the map for escape makes it easier for children to stay in the hood. Kids need to see examples of greener pastures. If they cannot imagine a better existence and do not see it in school or in real life, their chance of attaining a better life decreases (and I am not saying that all kids do not make it out the hood).

Remember, poverty begets poverty. Children who grow up in poverty are more likely to live in poverty as adults.

NIkkas will do nikkarish if they do not have opportunities to see and do otherwise!
